A 16 m cantilever and 10 m swing gates in Shorncliffe

Working with M&E contractor Henderson, we automated a pair of 16 m cantilever gates and a pair of 10 m swing gates at a site in Shorncliffe, Folkestone, with BEA safety lasers covering both gates, Paxton access control and CCTV.

What we installed

  • A pair of 16 m cantilever gates, sliding back along the fence line with no track across the road.
  • A pair of 10 m swing gates.
  • Feig and Fadini automation driving both sets of gates.
  • BEA safety lasers covering both gates, so they stop and reverse if a person or vehicle is in the way.
  • Paxton access control, so authorised users open the gates with their fob or card.
  • CCTV watching the gates.

Gates this size

A 16 m cantilever gate is a big moving load. Getting it right means solid foundations and groundwork, careful setting-up of the automation, and safety devices that cover the whole of the gate’s travel. The photos below follow the job from groundworks to the finished gates.
