BS 5839-1, the British Standard governing commercial fire alarms, was reissued in 2025. The Building Safety Act 2022 has just been used in court for the first time, in April 2026, with retrospective liability extending up to 30 years. Is it really free?
Yes. No call-out fee, no follow-up fee, no fee for the report. Our hope is that if you do need work doing, you'll consider us first. If you don't, you don't.
How long is the visit?
Usually 60–90 minutes for most commercial sites. Larger or multi-building sites may take longer. we'll tell you up front.
Do I have to switch providers?
No. Many of the businesses we audit stay with their existing provider and just use our report to ask better questions or get the right things fixed. We're happy with that.
What if our system is fine?
We'll tell you so, in writing. That's a useful thing to have on file for your insurer too.
Who actually carries out the audit?
One of our directly employed engineers. never a sub-contractor. Most often Ricky (our Technical Director) or Alex (our Systems Automation Manager).
Are you NSI accredited?
Yes. NSI Silver, plus partner accreditations from Hikvision, Paxton, GiBiDi, CAME, CSL, Orisec, Ubiquiti and Starlink.
